Twelve small rocks that appear to the XII Apostoli pass, towards the Val di Sacco, have named this nice hut situated near the Agola and Pratofiorito peaks.

The enchanting position and the panorama let you admire the Care' Alto, the Adamello
and the Presanella and also the Cevedale.
XII Apostoli: a religious name to appoint a natural phenomenon, a geographic area, as it was used from centuries from
all the climbers of the world. Nevertheless many clients of the "F.lli Garbari ai XII Apostoli" hut, doesn‚t know the origin of this name. With this indication the mountaneers and the ancient chamois‚hunters, meant to denominate that
natural phenomenon. Twelve rocks, maybe the remains of a flooded crest, for their unique and lined up position , recall the biblical simility. You can individuate the "XII Apostoli" rocks much more in some periods and during some particular times, expecially because of the shadows that point out the shapes of the apostles.
The hut was built in 1907-1908, thanks to the financiers Carlo and Giuseppe Garbari, brothers, mountaneers, photographers and trientiner patriots. The XII Apostoli hut represents a place to refer to fot the SAT history.
The particular cubic shape is the original,, then enlarged in 1956. In 1999 it has been inaugurated after a complete rebuilding.
From over 50 years the hut is run from the Salvaterra family, form Pinzolo: a familiar tradition of courtesy and solidarity,towards the most contribute has come form the "Brenta Grandmother" Maria Salvaterra, she run this historic hut for over 40 years.
A few minutes from the hut, digged up into the rock, there is the chapel of Our Lady, international monument for those who died in the mountain. Since 1952, every last Sunday of july a mass is celebrated, to remember those who died in the mountain. The prestigious SOSAT Chor takes part of the mass every year.

LIFE IN THE HUT
With a pinch of adaptation and adventure, life at the XII Apostoli hut, in the heart of Brenta Group ,is a stimulating experience, to live with some friends far away from the usual vacation. If you arrive early afternoon, after the reservation, you are sure to find the best accomodation for the night. You can let your wet things to get dry, by here the sleeping-sack for the night. The hut is very small and therefore the civic sense and the good manners are necessary; in the rooms we have to respect the others‚sleep when we go to bed and even when we wake up in the morning. At 22.00 o'clock silence is peremptory! The manager of the hut is a mountain guide and he knows very well every place, timetables and conditions, his experience is even better then a meteorological bulletin: ask him everything you need to know, telling him about any particular you found along the way.
In case of an accident, if you cannot contact directly the Alpine Aid (per telephon or radio), go immediately to the nearest hut to get help.
